After a long wait, the new office suite from Microsoft Office will soon also arrive for owners of Macs running OS X. Microsoft has previously released a version of Office for iPad and iPhone (iOS), but it is now finally heading on to desktops, for which it was previously available in Office 2011 for Mac.
It is already possible to download Office for Mac 2016 Preview directly from the Microsoft website (2.66 GB) and its free. Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote will be updated regularly as developments proceed.
Each beta version will work only for 60 days, which always will the be updated to a newer version with further extensions.
The software is also compatible with the latest version of OS X Yosemite and uses features such as full screen mode, supports Retina displays and the like. The final version should be released in the second half of the year.
