Windows 8.1 to be a free update, released on October 18th






The Verge is reporting Windows 8.1 will be officially available for users of the operating system on October 18th and if you have access to the Windows store you can get it a day sooner. Microsoft is said to be still fixing all the kinks of its operating system.

Windows 8.1 will help Microsoft to “deliver the next generation of PCs and tablets with our OEM partners and to deliver the experiences customers — both consumers and businesses alike — need and will just expect moving forward”. She didn’t say whether the update would include a Start button, Start menu, or the option to skip the Modern UI altogether, but it’s a fair bet we’ll see
