ASUS is already working on a new version of its famous high-end Rampage IV Extreme Intel LGA2011 socket motherboard, the Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black. This motherboard is aimed at the most demanding users, enthusiasts and overclockers, and as the name suggests the black color is dominant, being the only novelty of this model.
As mentioned, the only novelty of this motherboard is that its black PCB and heatsinks dominate above the color red, as is usual for ROG (Republic of Gamers) boards from Asus. Otherwise, it is identical, with the Intel X79 Express chipset that supports Intel socket LGA 2011. Supports up to 64GB of quad-channel DDR3 memory, supports up to four cards configurations thanks to its 4-way SLI / CrossFireX, and has special features specific to overclock.
This image has been released through the French site Cowcotland, and these ensure that Asus could have created this motherboard only so as not to upset NVIDIA, as normally the color red is associated with AMD and NVIDIA green. They also note that Asus could have created this board to compete (in terms of aesthetics, it is assumed) with the famed EVGA X79 Black.
It is still unknown its price and availability.
