Social networks ‘trap’ our personality: turns users violent and antisocial

Addiction to social networks models the behavior of Internet users.

The misuse of social networks can cause serious havoc on the personality of the people and, ultimately, generate different conflicts and disinterest in activities outside the internet, according to a study.

The Universidad del Valle de Mexico studied 2844 survey responses online to investigate the influence of social networks in both Mexico and Brazil. The study revealed that addictive behaviors among Internet users can have serious adverse human development and their ability to live outside the computer

“The lack of harmony among family members and friends can build a violence problem, since direct communication is interrupted and therefore the personality of those who are dependent on the social networking becomes more dependent on the Internet” says Raymundo Calderon, head of the Department of Psychology at the Universidad del Valle de Mexico.

According to the study, 77% of Internet users are under 35 years 68% of them use social networks-often, most are young people between 19 and 25 years, women more than men brows online and a high percentage of them are single.

Those responsible for the research are in favor of integrating social media in teaching. Not everyone knows how but those who know take advantage, potentiate and use it for their advantage.

At the conclusion they indicate that the Internet is indispensable, but that its use should be regulated, moderate and facilitate, but establishing clear criteria to prevent its abuse, social networks are becoming a modeler of behavior and conduct.
