Microsoft exec, Phil Spencer finally revealed the real reason why Microsoft was so eager to purchase Mojang the company that created Minecraft, as it appears Redmond is looking to expand to all possible platforms.
Microsoft bought out Mojang for a cool $2.5 billion.
“That’s why Minecraft made sense – it’s a viral thing across so many screens, and it’s a conduit for us to learn about what does it mean when people touch your service across all these different screens and what do they expect,” he said. “It’s something that’s come together over the last year.”
Game developers earn more money when they release their products to many platforms and since Microsoft has also announced its Windows 10 Operating System this could very well play a key role into their future expansion.
