Intel ‘Kaby Lake’ Core i7-7700K CPU will work with current motherboards
Thanks to a SiSoft SANDRA benchmark tool we now know about the latest Intel CPU called the “Kaby Lake” this new processor is rumoured to be a four core CPU and eight logical cores with HyperThreading. [via]
The Core i7-7700K is a quad-core processor (eight logical cores with HyperThreading) clocked at 3.6GHz (Turbo up to 4.2GHz) that packs 256KB of L2 cache and 8MB of L3 cache. In comparison, today’s Core i7-6700K is clocked at 4GHz with a max Turbo frequency of 4.2GHz. As for the integrated graphics, the chip packs 24 execution units with Sandra showing a clock speed of 1,150MHz.
Next to the the Intel Core i7-7700K in the benchmarks we also see the Core i7-7500U Intel and Intel Core M7-7Y75 for laptops and Ultrabooks designed for low consumption. In principle, if Intel plans are analyzed, Kaby Lake would hit the market during the second half of this year, so this June we could already see it in stores.
