Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC Windforce 5X: More images unveiled

Previously, we showed you some pictures of the sink of the WindForce 5X , which is to be used in the graphic card Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC WindForce 5X, a version that will come with factory overclock and will be based on the GeForce GTX 680 from Nvidia. This sink has dimensions that are unusual and will include five 40 mm fans, today we bring you new images of this giant card.

We have seen other GeForce GTX 680 customized by other brands such as Asus, MSI and Gainward among others, but this model is completely out GigaByte norm standard to use a really big sink, the Windforce 5X takes five fans instead of the two or at most three of the other custom models by other brands.

The huge WindoForce 5X heatsink is made of aluminum and has a total of nine copper heatpipes having a thickness of 6 mm . It is estimated that will be capable of dissipating up to 500W , so it is clear that this graph is intended for a very specific area, that of extreme overclocking .

Another feature is these five 40 mm fans, but here is something we have to assess when we see the first official analysis, and its final result. One aspect that is not very good is that much of the hot air will go directly to other components such as the motherboard, it would have been better to arrange them differently as for example on the Asus or MSI models with DirectCU or Twin Frozr .

We do not know the weight of the Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC Windforce 5X , but seeing the size of it is ofcourse another aspect to take into account is what kind of case will be needed to install this card. As usual in these versions, GigaByte has customized the PCB and has Proselytizer trainers, Dual-BIOS and technology Ultra Durable VGA .

both its price and operating frequencies are unknown, we hope they will be revealed soon and as always a full detail will have to be performed.
