Gigabyte has announced two new additions to its family of G1.Killer motherboards, the G1.Sniper Z5S and the G1.Sniper Z5. The G1.Killer Gigabyte boards family has some high end features, these boards will supplement the Gigabyte wide range of in this segment with features below the top end and at a lower cost .
One issue we find is its high price that makes this board not suitable for all users and that is why Gigabyte has announced two new boards that have the essence of this board but with slightly lower specifications.
The Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z5S and the G1.Sniper Z5 are intended to ship with the LGA 1150 and incorporate an Intel Z87 chipset. Comes with 4 slots of DDR3 RAM at 1600 MHz supporting up to 32 GB of memory and comes with 6 SATA ports 3 to 6 Gbps.
The Z5S features three PCI Express 3.0 x16 connectors operating at x8/x4/x4 3 Way CrossFire configurations and x8/x8 in Configurations 2 Way Sli / CrossFire and also includes 4 PCIe x1 . The Z5 comes with two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots that support two Way CrossFire configurations to x16/x4 , also has 2 PCIe x1 and 2 PCI . Both have 6 USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 7 .
Gigabyte has equipped both motherboards with unique characteristics of the G1.Killer series, these include the following: USB DAC- UP , UP Audio AMP- 4 Plus and Ultra Durable components. Also stresses the Killer E2200 series Ethernet controller that provides improved online gaming experience and streaming.
Gigabyte probably show both boards at CES (Consumer Electronics Show ) 2014 will be held this week in Las Vegas. Price and date of availability of the new G1.Sniper Z5S G1.Sniper and Z5 is unknown.
