The 8 inch Asus Android tablet offers good features on paper and a decent price ratio. Is that enough to make it a powerful and enduring model?
The ZenPad 8.0 (Z380C) is an 8 inch Android 5 tablet that does not cost too much (just over $140) and has attractive features such as IPS screen and Atom x3 processor with four cores.
The ZenPad 8.0 tablet (Z380C) available in black or white, but we should also note that it does come with 1GB or 2GB of RAM. The problem is that no information in reference (eg Z380C-1B011A) allows to know the amount of RAM, an important factor when it comes to performance. If you’re planning on buying one of these just remember that there are two versions that differ only by $10 ($140 and $150 for the 1 GB and 2 GB). Also to add to the confusion there is also the Z380CX model, cheaper but with less powerful photo sensors.
The ZenPad 8.0 is powered by a quad-core Atom processor at 1.2 GHz with 2 GB of RAM. Storage is provided by 16 GB of internal memory, 10.9 GB user available, expandable by microSD card or USB OTG key. The processor is powerful enough for most applications or 3D games. Gaming performance achieves 45 frames / s with 3D test Epic Citadel, a result that is partly explained by a reduced resolution of the display.
This ZenPad 8.0 tablet from Asus is not bad. It even offers smooth and fast navigation, but suffers from poor brightness and an average battery life. However this 8 inch model is saved by its modest price ($140) which is a good compromise between performance and price, but remember don’t expect too much.
