GeForce GTX 670: Learn about the different models currently available

Yesterday we learned about the launch of the graphics card from NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 670, the second monoGPU card which is based on the architecture Kepler from Nvidia and manufactured in 28nm. Today we are going to discuss the models that different manufacturers have been presented, since the GeForce GTX 670 comes in quite a few and even improved models in terms of cooling and performance.

Before beginning this review by the different models of the GeForce GTX 670 available, remember that the reference model have speeds at the core of 915Mhz and 980Mhz using GPU Boost technology, they offer 2GB of GDDR5 memory running at 6.000Mhz effective and has a TDP of 170W, let’s see the different models.

Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II is the model that comes with the standard frequencies, ie 915Mhz/980Mhz/6.000Mhz (GPU, GPU Boost, memories) . It uses two 90 mm fans and an aluminum heatsink that uses heat pipes nickel plated withcopper. Its starting price is 399 $ , the same as the version offered by Nvidia reference.

another model called the Asus GTX 670 DirectCu II TOP is an overclocked version of the core model discussed above. In this case the frequencies are set at 1.110Mhz and 1.137Mhz with GPU Boost. The price for this overclocked version increases to $ 419.

Galaxy GeForce GTX 670

Meanwhile Galaxy brings two models, one based on the Nvidia reference design and the other the 67NPH6DV5ZJX model is an adaptation that has been made with the PCB of the GTX 680, let’s just say that  this is card that is very different from the rest, its denomination is 67NPH6DV5ZVX.

The first model shows almost nothing new, is based on the reference design but changed the color of the PCB and the rear back panel for improved ventilation. The frequency of operation is 915/980/6000MHz. Its price is also $ 399.

The second model is a bit special, because it is an adaptation of the PCB of the GTX 680, also employs the same cooling system as its larger sibling. The operating frequencies are the same used in the GTX 680, ie 1006/1058/6008 MHz But obviously we have the limitation that it only has 1344 CUDA Cores, but if not for this, it would be a GTX 680 in every way possible.

Gainward GTX 670 and Gainward GTX 670 Phantom.

The Gainward brand also brings us two models, the Gainward GTX 670 is based on the reference design but varies slightly on the design of the housing that covers the heat sink. Frequencies are also standard, 915/980/6000MHz and costs $ 399.

The other variant is the Gainward GTX 670 Phantom that includes a 10% overclock and that famous cooler we’ve seen in other previous cards. What it does is instead of having fans on the outside introducing fresh air outside the aluminum sheets and to the heatsink heatpipes, the Phantom models have fans inside the sink, removing heat generated by the GPU, ie the fans are placed upside down and blow the hot air out.

Zotac GeForce GTX 670 AMP! Edition.

Continuing its line,  Zotac directly brings us its AMP Edition! of the GTX 670. Is identical to the GTX 680 AMP! Edition we discussed a few days ago, employing the same PCB but again we are limited by the number of CUDA cores, as happens in the Galaxy we have seen before. It comes factory overclocked and frequencies are at 1.098Mhz/1.176Mhz of the core and effective 6.600Mhz for its 2GB of GDDR5 memory. Its price is estimated at $ 439.99.

MSI GeForce GTX 670.

Like the previous chart, MSI has just introduced its model based on the reference design. We hope that soon we may hear of a GTX 670 Lightning which will be greatly improved.

Club3D GTX 670.

There is also no developments in the Club3D model, also is based on the Nvidia reference.

EVGA GTX 670, EVGA GTX 670 SuperClocked and EVGA GTX 670 FTW.

The reputable manufacturer EVGA is here to  present three models, the first of these is a common based on the reference design and uses the standard frequencies, there will be versions with 2GB and 4GB of GDDR5 memory.

The second is called EVGA GTX 670 SuperCloked, here we also have variants with 2GB and 4GB of GDDR5 memory also comes with a factory overclock and its core reaches 967/1046 MHz

And finally the third is called EVGA GTX 670 FTW, this model uses the cooling system and the PCB of the GTX 680, has an overclock which stands at 1006/1084 MHz

KFA2 GTX 670.

KFA2, which is the European brand of Galaxy, brings two models, one under the other reference design and one customized. In the reference model there is just a change in the color of the PCB and the rear bracket, otherwise they are the same.

The custom model includes an improved cooling system. It is very similar to the KFA2 GTX 680 EX OC, including the sink that was designed initially for the GTX 680, the frequencies is 1006/1058/6008 MHz, the same values for the GTX 680.

PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 670.

In regards to PNY again we have a card that is based on the reference design, although in this case comes with an HDMI cable to connect easily to a TV and enjoy HD content.

PALIT GeForce GTX Jetstream 670.

The manufacturer PALIT offers a custom card and a PCB components that are good quality. It’s called Jetstream GeForce GTX 670 and includes a sink with two very quiet fans. This model also comes factory overclocked and their frequencies are 1.006Mhz based GPU and 1.084Mhz with GPU Boost. its memory also increased to 6.108Mhz effective and its TDP up to 185W.

Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3X

Gigabyte could miss out and their particular version equipped with sink Windforce 3X has three 90 mm fans. The PCB layout is similar to that used in the GTX 680 and uses the UltraDurable VGA+. Comes with  factory overclock and its speeds are at 980Mhz 1.058Mhz based and come with GPU Boost for the core, 2GB of GDDR5 memory 6.000Mhz remain in effect. Its price is estimated at $ 415.

For now these are all models that have been presented of the GeForce GTX 670, we expect soon other brands such as MSI and other will jump the bandwagon and launch more custom models.
