Despite the lack of availability at the GeForce GTX 680 graphics card, several manufacturers have already submitted their custom versions of that particular card. Galaxy is one of them and presents its Galaxy GeForce GTX 680 2 GB GC card, which is improved in terms of cooling and also factory overclocked.
Few weeks ago Nvidia officially presented its first graphics card based on the new architecture Kepler , the GeForce GTX 680. Once the benchmarks were relevant, the results we saw was a new graphics sitting at the top, but narrowly beating the AMD Radeon HD 7970 that remains a great choice , it also has plenty of availability and expected to drop in price.
Galaxy GeForce GTX 680 GC 2 GB joins the other models based on a custom GTX 680 which already have other manufacturers such as Asus, VGA, MSI and Gainward. In this case we have a graphic card that has a completely redesigned PCB based on Galaxy , with much improved cooling and overclocking is also standard.
The cooling system is provided by a large aluminum heatsink features four copper heatpipes , which are nickel plated. To generate a good air flow it uses two fans, which are pretty quiet even when they work at high RPM. As a bonus, LED lighting is included in the sink to give a different touch.
It also comes with abit of an overlclock provided by the manufacture at its core, namely the base frequency is set to 1.110Mhz , which means the turbo mode can go up to 1.176Mhz . Everything else being equal, ie 2GB of GDDR5 memory running at 6.000Mhz effectively, a TDP of 195W, DVI video outputs, HDMI, Display Port and a 256bit memory interface.
