Today was unveiled the latest financial report from RIM and just as thought (or mostly speculating) the numbers and news for its next moves are far from encouraging. We knew the economy was not any good, in fact, its stock continued to fall to a historic point because today it got below 18%.

I sincerely believe that many of us were hoping that RIM would make a return to the mobile market more strongly than ever, the new commitment of its platform, or at least what they are showing is really interesting. However, what we saw today on video and pictures would not help at least not this year as they announced officially that BlackBerry 10 will not arrive until the first quarter of 2013.
The truth is that it is difficult to react and speculate as to what will happen if RIM do not release any BlakcBerry 10 devices this year. First, it was expected, in fact, we saw the rumored slides revealing that the first phones of the L series, with full touch screen where to be released this year. It is true that we are in mid-year and in the blink of an eye we’re already in December, but it is precisely the last quarter of each year where companies are betting in regards with the holiday sales and RIM would miss this opportunity to make things worst.
But either way, it was announced that the operating system will be delayed and may not have been an easy decision, especially when it only sold 7.8 million smartphones in the fourth quarter which represents a 40% drop compared to the same quarter last year.
