Latest news on the Tegra X1 powered Shield Tablet






While the last Shield Tablet got rave reviews, its not nearly as fast enough today to run the latest games but there is hope in the horizon, for some time now, NVIDIA announced a new high-performance mobile processor, the Tegra X1 . And its been confirmed that NVIDIA intends to release a new version of its Shield tablet based on this chip.

The Tegra X1 processor is based on the architecture of Maxwell. It is made according to the norms of 20-nanometer manufacturing process. According to Fudzilla, the device is based on an octa-core 64-bit ARM CPU, with four Cortex-A57 2MB L2 cores and another four Cortex-A53 512KB L2 cores.

Technical full specifications of the new tablet NVIDIA Shield are not yet announced. Its announcement may take place within the framework of the GTC 2015 conference, March 17 this year. The official release will be held in a few months.
